17. 9. 2010
From Monday Sept 13 until Thursday Sept 16 GCI attended the 2nd edition of Golf Business conference held in Warsaw, Poland.
Despite being small in terms of the number of delegates attending the event provided a great, intimate environment for sharing experience, discussing business and building business relationships.
The conference brought a very good insight into the Polish market including the most recent statistics, developments, position of Poland within CEE as well as the reputation of the sport in the country. Marek Michalowski, the President of the Polish Golf Union, gave a presentation on the vison of golf development in Poland expecting further growth and development of the sport in the country.
The conference was heavily attended by golf design companies the representatives of which also delivered very interesting presentations about the main dos and don“ts of golf course design and construction.
Jerry Kilby, the President of Club Managers Association of Europe, gave a speech on how to economically and functionally run a golf club. His presentation was very inspiring touching controversial topics such as dress code in golf clubs and calling for more freedom and relaxed approach.
